Content, design is fun but what's the point if there's nothing to read or keep coming back to see?
18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?

I really love those sites, a lot of websites themed like that really nail the look. They're so fun to look at!

most of my pages aren't valid LOL. my newer pages don't have any errors, most of this site was made back in 2021 - 2024 and my HTML knowledge was minimal.
21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?
One of my favorite parts of the indie web! I like looking at site buttons, 88x31s` or banners, a lotta them are cool and crazy looking. i thought of the buttons being a gateway to a whole new fun site, contained in a small image / gif at 88x31!
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?
they're plesant to look at although they make my webpage lag.

34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?
I wouldn't really say so, I have cool moots here on Neocities but I haven't talked to any other webmasters enough to be friends. Both of my friend groups are mainly artists. I'd love to have more true webmaster friends tho!
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?
no and i hope they never will LOL

nah, not really as much as I used to. I'd say the update schedule is prob anywhere from 3 days to - 2 Weeks
37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?
I try to keep the vibe similiar all around, i do make small changes here and there but everything mostly remains the same. I will be changing page layouts someday.

It's mainly a personal site with some of my hobbies on the side aswell. I'd say it's half and half.
39. Do you do web design professionally?

46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?
manymany, i like to keep it interesting. there's art, reviews (coming eventually), silly screenshots and more. the blog page has a lot of different topics i talk about over there.. i would've made a fc2 but it seems like a hassle.

this site is my real self, everything comes straight from the soul. it's a site to express myself and my interests.

yea it's cool rn i guess, can't say im an expert so i can't really be mad at the bugs or whatevr.
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?
if you want to code your own site using site templates are fine. but, you should learn about coding incase of any problems arise.
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?
sketch your site layout or page layouts before you code them! it's really good for brainstorming. you can bounce off ideas you get from your sketch and add more elements into your coding.
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?
i will say i'm guilty of generic structure, it's mainly do a one div style so i can get my ideas onto a page. I'm going to be editing page layouts later when I get the time.

yes i do often. librewolf breaks a lotta shit and I can't really see some elements on pages that I need to see.

windows 10 but these mfs are trying to get me to upgrade to 11 ewww..
56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?
i love windows 10 i've gotten so comfortable with it. i've heard from a bud that windows 11 has really weird changes and bloatware or somethin.
57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?
nooooooooo................. i'd love to fix it one day tho.
58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?
it's fine as long as you warn others before hand. i think people who have autoplay music / videos on their site should have a warning before hand! i also believe the first two pages that you'll have visitors enter shouldn't have any loud autoplay music or videos on it.
59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?
webrings are fun, they make me happy. to share common interests with other users and visit their sites with a click of a button is so neat. having our sites in unison is pretty sweet to me.
60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?
yes i have only one finished web shrine as of the time i'm writing this. it's a tekken 4 shrine, my favorite game of all time. i have other shrines planned right now but they aren't finished. what i like to see in shrine pages is just true passion for whatever a webmaster is talking about. it makes the read more interesting when the author includes little facts or so in their shrine. a neat looking page is pleasent too with a lot of decoration!
61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?
not sure what that means in a website making context. sites are vastly different from each other since we all aren't the same webmaster.
62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?
just a site with finished pages.. im striving for it but it takes a toll on me coding and trying to figure out layouts for hours.

yes........... drawing a buncha sketches and not really drawing full pieces. i'd like to break that habbit and get my love for art fully back.
66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?
learn it all, take your time and expirement with html + css. don't rush into it and put a buncha spagetthi code together you'll end up frustrated in the end like i used to be.
67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?
i rely on css to carry me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
68. What do you think of frameset layouts?
I think they look neat, i've never used one.
69. How about table-based layouts?
I really like sites with these layouts, they're nice and compact. I would've made one probably if I didn't go for this.
70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?
yes, i will likely be using some of these in the future of my website. I'll be doing a layout overhaul eventually.
71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?
def the css. positioning and flexbox kill me. i need to truely look into those one day.
72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.
nah. maybe i should, thanks for the headsup.
73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?
i haven't made any crazy layouts on my site yet besides the index, homepage and sanctuary page. those were all planned out and tweaked as i added content. i dont leave blank templates around for content.
74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?
i'd call myself a beginner still or perhaps a novice. i'm still very nooby on html and css and can only do enough to make simple pages.
75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?
yes but not too often anymore, only when i was a super noob. i remember visiting ko's crag and was like how tf do i add autoplay music to my site?!? i remember checking the source code to find out.
76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?
i remember starting by tryin to watch those youtube neocities tutorials back in 24' but it was hard to follow. i've built my html knowledge from sites like w3schools, geeksforgeeks and stackoverflow.
77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?
yes. that's why the shit always looks busted as hell on certain resolutions and on mobile especially LOL.
78. Thoughts on floating elements?
hahaha this brings back memories when i used to use float:right; to make my page layouts LOL. not sure if there's a proper way to utilize float without it breaking some page elements but i think its fine. it def has a use but do not use it to make layouts..please!!
79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?
i'm a px guy, theres a couple of % sometimes in my scaling tho.
80. Do you have a favourite font?
serpentine + RoG2 Sans Serif Std
81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?
i would prob make one for me and my best bro. i think he writes interesting game reviews and we could both have a full on game review section with cool reviews.
82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?
yea yea yea yea, every day i'm on the search to find sites made with passion.
83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?
yes bro.. half of my bookmarks are other's sites. it's to keep up with them ever so often, i've noticed many sites are moving off neocities or are hosted on nekoweb and it's easy to miss updates. and if you have my site bookmarked hi, thank you for enjoying my site. i hope to bring you more content in the future but my motivation is low rn.
84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?
hrm i don't want to impress anyone since i think my site isn't the most beautifully layed out or designed. i intend for this site to be a place where you can laugh at my sillyness or share a love for shared interests between me & you.
85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?
hell yeh i love technology. recently i've been buying more older tech, i'm on the search for a somewhat decent CD player / walkman rn. i'd love to own a digital camera one day. my current tech is mainly consoles as of now. handhelds and consoles rn. check my digital shelf if you're interested
86. How often and for how long are you online?
usually all day but often 9am - 3pm sometimes
87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?
varies.. people who like the y2k aesthetic, anime fans, gamers of all types, if you like the color blue, angel fans, cool people, people who like sonic as much as i do, fighting game enjoyers, visual novel readers.. to name a few.
88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?
wtf is that LOL, sounds interesting.
89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?
nopenopenopenope and never will.
90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?
i'm not even sure wtf that is
91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?
yes! i find the neocities counter to be a bit inaccurate. i'm not even sure if near 150k people have even seen my site. my hitcounter on the EHP homepage is currently at 1447 at the time i'm writing this. 1447 unique visitors sounds about right to me.
92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?
can't say i'm a forum user, im more of a lurker that goes to forums for help on certain problems.
93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?
yeah i write everything directly into the editor. i dont see a need to go to like a .txt document when you can see errors or problems in most code editors. it's a lot easier to see what u are doing in code editors.
94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?
hmmm idk, i don't really see a need to appear as a badass online or somethin'. it's a bit silly if you try to appear super cool online, i think people might see me as a chill guy online instead.
95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?
I see it as cringey but I embrace it and recognize my old stuff as a relic of the past. I've archived my miiverse art for that exact reason, to remember how I used to draw!
96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?
I'd leave EHP as an archive if I couldn't update it. i find my site has a quite a bit of content rn so i'd leave it open to explore; prob a 30 min or less read.
97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?
no and I won't, you'll get to know my hobbies, stuff I like, and funny comments but that's about it.
98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?
my online friend is also my best friend IRL.. my best bro doesn't have a website, idk if he ever will have one ever.
99. And do you optimise the images on your website?
I really try to but there's a lot and I get lazy. Some are optimised and others aren't.
100. We're out of time! How do you feel after answering 100 questions? ....other than exhausted.
actually i found this pretty interesting. it was fun answering 100 webmaster questions. i found myself answering quesiton after question when i picked this back up 40 minutes ago
